Reference Evapotranspiration (ETo) Methods Implemented as ArcMap Models with Remote-Sensed and Ground-Based Inputs, Examined along with MODIS ET, for Peloponnese, Greece

چکیده

The present study develops ArcMap models to implement the following three methods: FAO-56 Penman–Monteith (FAO PM), Hargreaves–Samani (HS) and Hansen, with former used as a reference. Moreover, implementing statistical indices (RMSD, MB, NMB) are also created. purpose is threefold, follows: investigate variability in daily mean reference evapotranspiration (ETo) for Decembers Augusts during 2016–2019, over Peloponnese, Greece. Furthermore, agreement between methods’ ETo estimates, examine along MODIS ET (daily) averaged products. area complex Mediterranean area. Meteorological data from sixty-two stations under National Observatory of Athens (NOA), Terra LST products, have been employed. FAO PM found sensitive wind speed depicts interactions among climate parameters (T, evaporative demand water availability) frame change. years 2016–2019 four warmest since preindustrial era. Hargreaves–Samani’s estimations were almost identical ET, despite their different physical meaning. However, there considerable discrepancies MODIS’s attributed higher summertime. Assessing Experimental and Intelligent Models in Estimating Reference Evapotranspiration

Introduction: As the most important element in the hydrologic cycle which depends on climate variables such as near-ground wind speed, air temperature, solar radiation, and relative humidity,  reference evapotranspiration (ET0) is normally computed through a variety of methods, each of which requires different and in some cases extensive data that are unavailable in many circumstances, especial...

DEA Models with Interval Scale Inputs and Outputs

This paper proposes an alternative approach for efficiency analysis when a set of DMUs uses interval scale variables in the productive process. To test the influence of these variables, we present a general approach of deriving DEA models to deal with the variables. We investigate a number of performance measures with unrestricted-in-sign interval and/or interval scale variables.

Estimating Riparian and Agricultural Actual Evapotranspiration by Reference Evapotranspiration and MODIS Enhanced Vegetation Index

Dryland river basins frequently support both irrigated agriculture and riparian vegetation and remote sensing methods are needed to monitor water use by both crops and natural vegetation in irrigation districts. We developed an algorithm for estimating actual evapotranspiration (ETa) based on the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) sensor on...

GIS-Based Landslide Susceptibility Mapping on the Peloponnese Peninsula, Greece

In this paper, bivariate statistical analysis modeling was applied and validated to derive a landslide susceptibility map of Peloponnese (Greece) at a regional scale. For this purpose, landslide-conditioning factors such as elevation, slope, aspect, lithology, land cover, mean annual precipitation (MAP) and peak ground acceleration (PGA), and a landslide inventory were analyzed within a GIS env...
